Each October, the Stanford Associates Board of Governors convenes to select grant recipients from proposals submitted by departments across campus seeking to engage alumni in their work as volunteers and participants.

Department of Art Art History

Latinx Art Beyond Museum Walls: A project to document and celebrate the history of Chicano/o/x and Latina/o/x art at Stanford University through oral interviews and a documentary film, including the role students, staff and faculty have played in supporting artists and their work on campus; and to recognize and promote nontraditional art spaces on campus. 

Department of Music

Alumni Piano Engagement Initiative: A project to foster profound and enduring connections among Stanford Piano alumni and the university, as well as to nurture alumni’s musical passions, through a 3-day event consisting of alumni and student recitals, masterclasses, chamber music, research discussions and collaborative sessions.


SAA, Alumni Communities

Women + Diverse Leaders Champ Social Change: A project to highlight the varied career experiences of Stanford alumnae acrosspopular industries; to amplify the diverse stories of women leaders through a series of panels and networking events; and to engage recent graduates, career changers, investors and others across a variety of alumni clubs and organizations

Recent Grad Connectors: A project to enhance young alumni participation and awareness of undergraduate reunion events by creating the "Recent Grad Reunion (RGR) Connectors" pilot program, providing opportunities and incentives for alumni from younger classes to get involved as volunteers, generate excitement among classmates, and stay engaged with Stanford.


Stanford FLI Office

First-Generation and/or Low-Income (FLI) Mentor Program A project to broaden mentorship avenues for first-generation and/or low-income graduate and undergraduate students by actively engaging alumni in diverse mentorship opportunities, such as mini-lectures, spotlights, networking events, and panel discussions; and to leverage existing platforms to sustain connections between students and alumni mentors for educational and career guidance.
